As the number of COVID 19 cases is declining gradually it becomes highly necessary to resume the economic activities so that the livelihood of the common people can be protected. But at the same time, the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) has to face a huge challenge of preventing the re-emergence of community cases of COVID 19. As such along with Singapore Food Agency (SFA), the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Manpower (MoM) highly felt the necessity of some effective safe management measures requirements while the food and beverage establishment will resume their normal operations. Hence all food and beverage establishments in Singapore must comply with the safety measures.

What operations will be resumed in the food and beverage establishment?

The following selected operations will be allowed after resuming the food and beverage establishment in Singapore:

All the food and beverage establishments will be able to manufacture on-site food items such as cakes, ice cream, cocoa, snacks, chocolate products, etc. which remain suspended previously due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
All the retail outlets of food items such as cake, snacks, and desserts, ice-cream will be able to open but only for takeaway and delivery service.
All standalone stores that sell beverages predominantly will remain closed but online retail of such products will be allowed. The food and beverage outlets located in parks will also remain closed during this circuit breaker period.
No system of dining will be allowed inside the outlet although the food and beverage establishment will be permitted to continue their operation for takeaway and delivery service during the period of the circuit breaker.
The customer or the delivery boys are allowed to enter the food and beverage establishment but they need to leave the premises as soon as they pick t/he orders.
All the retailers need to request their customers to bring their own clean and reusable containers at the time of buying food so that the amount of waste generated can be reduced significantly. Apart from that, it will also ease the demand for disposable food containers.
