We could tell you that our wines are all about terroir, or that we have the most amazing soils and microclimates, but that would be missing the point. Bérêche & fils are not about vineyards; they are about brothers, two men with a deep friendship, who share a common idea of how Champagne should be made. We can honestly say that we do everything by hand, guided by our instincts and desires and not spreadsheets or business plans. In seeking to make wines with less dosage, we want just the right amount of sweetness, so there is more depth of flavours in the wine to counterbalance the extra acidity. And while we think they are fantastic wines and deeply gratifying to drink, only you can decide if this approach works for you.”
The wines of Bérêche & fils are the product of a clear vision, but also of a keen curiosity born from a life immersed in wine. This is what passionate winemaking is all about. Bérêche & fils are small, family-run Champagne producers that have earned considerable acclaim for the quality of their grower Champagnes. Bérêche Central Vinification is a large, modern facility built in 2008 to manage the process of pressing and blending grapes from more than 15 family-owned plots. The Brut Réserve Cuvée L d’Antan is comprised of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, with an approximate dosage of 10 grams per liter. In the spirit of the Bérêche style, it is aged 5 years before release and is bottled unfiltered.
Bérêche & fils is a winery located in Champagne, France specializing in champagne.
Bérêche & fils is a family-owned Champagne house based in the iconic village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Headed by Pascal Berèche, who studied at the Institute of Viticulture in Beaune, it’s a true grower-producer with its 3-hectare vineyard. His wines are celebrated for their purity, elegance, and vibrant freshness. Bérêche & Fils is a family-owned estate in Champagne, France. Bérêche & Fils is the result of four generations of love and respect for a terroir of extraordinary quality. Since 1847, the family has been passionately and uncompromisingly dedicated to producing the most honest expression of champagne.
Despite the dynamic world of champagne, and even during times that are uncertain in the region, our family has stayed true to its origins and traditionally created champagne.
Champagne Alexandre Bérêche & Fils is the house that produces a set of terroirs from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. A dozen very specific parcels (15% of the entire vineyard) are the origin of all our champagnes, creating an overall consistency of style, unique, that some compare to the grand crus of Burgundy. Each parcel has different characteristics, which creates subtleties in all blends. Today, the Online wine auction continues its tradition of creating exceptional Champagne at its estate in the village of Verzenay, with a focus on terroir-driven and minimal intervention. The house is more committed than ever to the preservation of viticultural traditions rooted in biodynamic viticulture.
Champagne Charles Quint is run by 8th generation Julien Bérêche together with his wife Dorothée who joined in 2006. “This cuvée is a blend of grapes coming from 0.61-hectare parcel on the Côte de Blancs in Vertus, fermented entirely in old oak. It marks a turning point in Julien’s winemaking style, towards more site expression and transparency to vintage variation. In 1847, Adolphe Jacquesson and his wife élie relocate to Montagne de Reims and acquire the vineyards of Jean Colbert. Their son Camille takes over but dies prematurely in 1870. His widow, Caroline then takes charge of the estate. Based in the Champagne region, this is a family-run operation that includes Régis’s brother Emmanuel and father Jean-Marc, who was once the cellar master at Henri Krug.
