1. Ground Prep

First, we’ll begin by preparing your current ground for pet friendly artificial grass installation. This includes clearing the ground of existing sod, rocks or gravel, or construction debris. Next, we’ll need a level base to lay your new artificial grass so we will remove or add soil as necessary to achieve a base that 3-4″ below finish grade. Then, we’ll add and grade a 3″ layer of gravel to support the new grass. Finally, we will compact this gravel base with a plate tamper.

2. Installation

When we’re ready to install, we will first plan out how we intend to install the grass. It’s important that all the blades are growing in the same direction so we will map out the artificial grass before installing. Once laid down, we will make marks and cut the grass to fit your yard. Then, we will secure the grass with 6″ landscape spikes around the edges and provide a strong seam that is nearly invisible but highly durable. In other grass installations, we will use rubber infill to ensure the grass blades stand up straight and cushions the artificial grass, but with K9Grass, this is not necessary. Thanks to the short, dense blades no infill is required.

3. Clean Up & Maintenance

After the K9Grass installation is complete, we will clean up after ourselves to clear any grass or water at the work site. We will walk through the area with you to ensure the job meets your standards and provide you with maintenance instructions to ensure your pet friendly artificial grass installation withstands the tests of time and nature.
